The Zamfara State Muslim Hajj Commission (ZMHC) has begun a one-week sensitisation visit to strategic centres to meet intending pilgrims from the state.
The visit, which started in Anka on Wednesday, was led by the commission’s Permanent Commissioner, Malam Shu’aibu Isa Talata-Mafara, was an annual routine ahead of the pilgrim’s departure for the Hajj.
The visit is also part of efforts by the commission to ensure proper awareness of intending pilgrims on theory and practice of the essentials of Hajj which is one of the five pillars of Islam.
At the event, Alhaji Lawal Isa Abdullahi, ZMHC Executive Chairman, urged participants from Anka, Bukkuyum and Gummi to explore the sensitisation to imbibe right conduct for the exercise.
Abdullahi, who was represented by the head of the Da’awah Committee, added that the enlightenment campaign was aimed at ensuring right conduct and acceptable Ibadat by pilgrims during their performance of the Hajj rites.
The occasion featured a brief on key places of visit at Madina delivered by the Secretary State Ulama Consultative Council, Umaru Sahabi, and a video clip highlighting the conduct of the basic rituals by pilgrims at Haram, Arafat, Muzdalifa and Mina.
In another segment of the sensitisation campaign, an operational staff Hajiya Nana Bello Wawure touched on major issues of interest and what is expected of female pilgrims in the Holy Land before, during and after Hajj.
Other members in the team were Deputy Director Operations, Hajiya Maryam MD Gusau, Hajiya Mariya Abubakar of Audit Department, Yusha’u Hassan Gusau of Planning and Statistics Department and PRO Mansur Ibrahim Shafi’i, among others.
