As 2024 Hajj exercise to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia counts down, the Edo state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board concluded her screening exercise for intending pilgrims from the state.

Holding the final screening exercise in Edo North Senatorial District at Arafah Mosque, Auchi,

Etsako West LGA of Edo state, the Chairman of the Edo state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Sheikh Ibrahim Oyarekhua said the screening exercise is aimed at ensuring that the documents of all the intending pilgrims from the state are complete and inorder.

Sheikh Ibrahim Oyarekhua added that the screening will further prepare the intending pilgrims to take off in a date to be announced later.

Speaking to SMN in Arafah Mosque Auchi, the Chairman opined that 297 intending pilgrims are registered and screened across the state for the 2024 Hajj exercise to Saudi Arabia.

Sheikh Ibrahim Oyarekhua while seeking the cooperation of the intending pilgrims across the state, assured Muslims in Edo state and the intending pilgrims that this year’s Hajj exercise will be historic with the best experience.

Speaking on behalf of the intending Pilgrims, the village Head of Ozoh community in Uzairue kingdom, Chief Amidu Isah Ozoh thanked the Chairman and other officials for a successful and hitch-free screening exercise adding that the show of good leadership by the authorities of the screening exercise, is a confidence that this year’s Hajj exercise will be positively noted in history. Chief Ozoh therefore appealed to Edo Muslims to spiritually support the intending pilgrims for a better exercise as he assured that the intending pilgrims will include the state and Muslims in their prayers.

The screening exercise was attended by the immediate past Commissioner of Planning, Research, Statistics, Information and Library (PRSILS) at the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, Dr (Chief) Prince Suleiman Momoh, official of the Nigeria Immigration service, members of the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, intending pilgrims across Edo North Senatorial District and other concerned members of Muslim communities in Edo North.
