HAJJ 2025: BAUCHI SET JANUARY 7 DEADLINE FOR PILGRIMS REGISTRATION , EMBARKS ON A STATEWIDE SENSITISATION TOUR

The Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has embarked on a Grassroot Hajj Sensitisation Tour, pledged the support and engagements of Local Government Councils, Traditional and religious leaders and other stakeholders to meet a deadline of 2025 hajj operation.

The Executive Secretary of the Board Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris represented by the Director Operation of the Board , Comrade Sabiu Barau Ningi made the pledge while leading a hajj sensitisation team at Warji, Ningi and Ganjuwa LGAs of Bauchi State.

Comrade Sabiu Barau in his several speeches said involvement of stakeholders  became pertinent to meet the timeline and other conditions set by Saudi Arabia and National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON.

He noted that NAHCON has officially pegged N8.5Million as a Hajj deposit while considering other factors, Bauchi  fixed a minimum of N6.5M as its initial deposit.

Comrade Sabiu Barau added that all intending pilgrims are expected to pay a complete deposit of up to N8.5M as declared by NAHCON before 7th January, 2025.

He enjoined intending pilgrims to urgently make their complete deposit to enable for the commencement of VISA to Nigerian pilgrims  which will start  on the 4th February, 2025.

He used the forum to commend Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State for his unflinching support on the welfare of state pilgrims.

According to him, the Governor has subsidized the cost of 2024 hajj fare by  almost one Million to each Pilgrim, the sum of One Hundred Thousand Dollar to argue  the pilgrims’ Basic Traveling Allowance BTA  and the traditional Three Hundred Saudi Riyals each to pilgrims

at a time when they highly need it.

In their several remarks The Executive Chairman Ningi LGA Hon. Nasiru Zakarai and Ganjuwa Hon Mohammed Idris promised to  redouble effort to enhance services to the intending pilgrims by widening the Sensitisation scope.

They added that the Councillors,Traditional and religious leaders will be adequately used to sensitize the People at the grassroots in order  to meet the deadline requirements.

On his part the Executive Chairman Warji LGA, Hon. Aminu Barmini who was ably represented by his deputy Hon. Habibu Idris  expressed their loyalty and assured the Local Government support to the Board.
