Hajj 2025: Governor Dikko Radda Constitutes Katsina State Delegation

The Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON, recently approved the constitution of the Katsina State Delegation for the 2025 Hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

 

According to a press release signed by the Director of Press in the Office of the Secretary to the Government, Abdullahi Aliyu Yar’adua, the Governor appointed Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal Jobe, HCIB, as Head of Delegation (Amirul Hajj).

 

The delegation includes top government officials and Islamic scholars: Rt. Hon. Nasiru Yahaya Saif, Speaker, Katsina State House of Assembly; Ishaq Shehu Dabai, Commissioner for Religious Affairs; Alhaji Shafi’u Abdu Duwan; Hon. Shehu Abdu Daura; Justice Aminu Tukur Kofar-Bai; Alhaji Lawal Attahiru Bakori; Sheikh Aminu Usman (Abu Ammar); Sheikh Naziru Kofar-Baru; Barr. Umar Abubakar and Alhaji Aliyu Hussaini.

The Governor’s Office is expected to appoint a secretary to the delegation.

 

The delegation’s terms of reference, outlined in appointment letters signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abdullahi Garba Faskari, include, monitoring and supervising all Hajj operations both in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, ensuring the safety, welfare, and well-being of pilgrims, and facilitating a hitch-free airlift and return journey for all pilgrims from the state.

 

The delegation is also tasked with submitting a comprehensive report to the Governor upon completion of the exercise.

 

Governor Radda expressed confidence in the delegation’s ability to deliver a successful Hajj operation and wished the members, the State Pilgrims Welfare Board, and all intending pilgrims Allah’s guidance and protection throughout the pilgrimage.

 

The formal inauguration of the delegation by Governor Radda is expected to take place in the coming days, marking the beginning of official preparations for the Hajj.
