All clerics nominated to lead pilgrims from Katsina State for the 2025 Hajj will undergo a mandatory screening examination to ensure proper spiritual guidance during the pilgrimage.
This was disclosed by the Chairman of the Screening Committee, Sheikh Dr. Aminu Abu Ammar, during the inauguration of the exercise at the Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board headquarters.
The screening attracted preachers sponsored by the Katsina State Government from all 34 local government areas of the state. According to Sheikh Abu Ammar, the initiative was instituted by the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, PhD, to ensure that pilgrims from the state perform a spiritually rewarding and well-guided Hajj.
He emphasised that the process would be thorough, fair, and transparent to select only competent and qualified religious leaders for the pilgrimage.
“The committee is committed to conducting a just and objective screening exercise that will uphold the integrity of the Hajj mission,” Sheikh Abu Ammar said.
The committee is composed of respected Islamic scholars and educators, including Sheikh Munir Ja’afar, Sheikh Dr. Nasir Ahmad Funtua, Dr. Sagir Adam, and Malama Murja Duwan.
The Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring a smooth and spiritually uplifting Hajj for all intending pilgrims from the state.
