In preparation for the 2025 Hajj exercise, the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board announced on Tuesday plans to hold its first enlightenment lecture for intending pilgrims across the state.
Speaking to newsmen in his office, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Abdulsalaam Abdulkadir, emphasised the importance of the lecture, describing it as a vital part of the board’s efforts to equip pilgrims with essential knowledge on Hajj rites and procedures.
He urged all intending pilgrims from the sixteen Local Government Areas of Kwara State, as well as non-indigenes travelling through the board, to attend the lecture without fail.
According to Alhaji Abdulkadir, the session is scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board premises, beginning at 10:00 am.
The event will feature a special prayer for the safety and success of the pilgrims, led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Mohammed Bashir, alongside other prominent Islamic clerics from across the state.
The enlightenment lecture is the first in a series planned to ensure a spiritually and logistically successful pilgrimage for all participants.
