DAMATURU – The Yobe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the payment of N8.5 million as initial deposit by intending pilgrims from the state for the 2025 Hajj, just as the state is allocated 1,288 seats.
The board also said it would soon commence the registration of the intending pilgrims in line with the advice of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) regarding the 2025 Hajj package.
The Executive Chairman of the commission, Alhaji Mai Aliyu Usman, disclosed these while addressing pressmen in Damaturu shortly after a management meeting with the 17 local government fare collectors.
Mai Aliyu Usman explained that NAHCON has indicated that pligrims from Yobe state will pay N8.5 million as their initial deposit, adding that the payment could be either in full or instalmentally.
According to him, NAHCON has allocated 1,288 seats to the state for the 2025 Hajj operations, pending additional allocations later.
The executive chairman encouraged the intending pilgrims to make their initial deposits from N8.5 million or below a million Naira in to the commission’s account before further remittance to NAHCON.
The charman directed all the 17 lacal government fare collection officers to promptly commence the registration process for intending pilgrims, advising all the intending pilgrims to contact the Hajj fare collectors in their respective local governments areas.
