The FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abuja, has reaffirmed its readiness for a flawless 2026 Hajj exercise.
The Director of the Board, Mallam Kadiri Edah, stated this when he received the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria’s (NAHCON) new coordinator in charge of the North Central Zone, Hajiya Zainab Mohammed, and her team on a courtesy visit to the Board.
Mallam Edah disclosed that the Board has put adequate mechanisms in place to actualise the success of the forthcoming Hajj operation.
He stressed that the Board is developing new strategies to help pilgrims achieve their goal of performing a satisfactory hajj in 2026.
The Director called for support of the commission in addressing challenges that the Board may encounter during the operation, because each Hajj operation comes with its peculiar challenges.
In her speech earlier, the new NAHCON’s coordinator for the North Central Zone, Hajiya Zainab Mohammed, said the visit was to familiarize herself with the Board and called for support in discharging her assignment in the zone.
Hajiya Zainab called for the cooperation of the FCT in ensuring hitch-free Hajj exercises for the benefit of Nigerians who would be part of the contingent to the Holy Land of Saudi Arabia for the religious obligation.
She emphasised the commitment of the Commission in ensuring remarkable hajj operations in future and called for the support of the Director and staff of the Board in each operation.
The registration of intending Pilgrims, camping activities, and airlifting of pilgrims are among the issues discussed at the meeting.
