The Hajj Institute of Nigeria (HIN) has announced specialised training programmes for Hajj and Umrah operators scheduled to run from August to December 2026 as part of efforts to improve operational efficiency and service delivery to Nigerian pilgrims.

The Rector of the Institute, Professor Mohammed Nasirudeen M. Maiturare, disclosed this in a letter dated August 20, 2026, inviting members of the Association of Hajj and Umrah Operators of Nigeria (AHOUN) to participate in the programmes.

Maiturare said the training was approved by the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) following consultations with stakeholders before and after the 2026 Hajj.

He said the programmes were designed to enhance participants’ understanding of evolving Hajj policies and programmes introduced by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, while strengthening field planning and operational performance ahead of the 2027 Hajj and subsequent operations.

The Rector urged AHOUN members to nominate appropriate officials to participate in the relevant training programmes, stressing that the initiative would further equip pilgrimage operators with the skills required to meet emerging operational demands.
