The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has announced that prospective pilgrims planning to perform Hajj in 1448 AH (2026–2027) can now obtain their required medical fitness certificates at any of its health centres.
The service is being provided in accordance with the conditions and regulations set by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) in line with Qatar’s approved health protocols and procedures for Hajj pilgrims.
The initiative is aimed at helping prospective pilgrims complete the necessary medical requirements ahead of their journey and ensure they are in suitable health to perform the Hajj rituals safely.
Applicants can obtain the Medical Fitness Certificate at all PHCC Family Medicine Centers any day of the week without a prior appointment.
The service is provided free of charge to both Qatari citizens and residents at PHCC health centres. However, residents whose Residency Permits or health cards have expired will be required to pay a nominal fee.
The Medical Fitness Certificate is available in both paper and electronic formats, giving pilgrims greater flexibility in completing and retaining their medical documentation.
PHCC said the service forms part of its ongoing efforts to provide comprehensive healthcare services and facilitate access to essential medical care, particularly in preparation for major religious occasions such as the Hajj season.
The corporation also stressed the importance of completing all required medical procedures in a timely manner to ensure pilgrims are medically prepared before travelling and can undertake the pilgrimage safely and securely.
