The National Coordinator of Independent Hajj Reporters (IHR), Mallam Ibrahim Mohammed, arrived in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday to monitor arrangements being made for intending pilgrims for Hajj 2025.
Mallam Mohammed will also participate in the annual Hajj and Umrah Conference, scheduled to be held in Jeddah from January 12, 2025.
The conference is expected to draw attendees from all Hajj participating countries, private tour operators, and service providers in Saudi Arabia.
The conference is organized by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
Countries are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) regarding the conduct of the forthcoming Hajj exercise.
Giving further insights regarding his trip, Mallam Ibrahim said, ‘Such an important event can’t take place without the participation of IHR as the foremost CSO and Hajj media platform from Nigeria.’
‘Almost all arrangements for this year’s Hajj will be finalized within the month; that is why almost all countries are here, including service providers.’
‘My mission is to represent both IHR and Hajj Reporters Media Limited to monitor arrangements made not just for Nigerian pilgrims but for other African countries as well,’ he said.
The coordinator also mentioned that, just like last year, the Hajj and Umrah conference in particular offers an opportunity to network and consolidate existing partnerships as well as create new ones.
Mallam Ibrahim added that he has already received the mandate of the National Executive Committee of IHR to closely monitor arrangements being made for Nigerian pilgrims by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), states, and tour operators, and submit a full report on his return to Nigeria.
