The Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry, Rosan Roeslani, stated that the Hajj village accommodating Indonesian pilgrims will be situated 400 meters from the Masjid al-Haram in the city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud (MBS), has already approved this distance. However, Rosan has not yet provided detailed information about the location.

“The Crown Prince has approved the request from President Prabowo,” Rosan said while giving a press statement in Brussels, Belgium, on Sunday, July 13, 2025, as monitored through the President’s Secretariat YouTube channel.

Rosan accompanied Prabowo during a meeting with MBS at the Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, last week. Apart from the Hajj village, Rosan stated that Danantara Indonesia has reached an agreement with ACWA Power, a renewable energy company owned by the Saudi Arabian Sovereign Wealth Fund (PIF).

“I happened to sign with Danantara and ACWA, which are companies under PIF, sovereign wealth funding, engaged in clean energy,” stated the CEO of Indonesia’s Danantara Investment Management Agency.

Rosan mentioned that Prabowo and MBS also discussed cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, investment, and energy. Both countries agreed to support each other’s targets to achieve the Saudi Arabia 2030 Vision and the Indonesian Golden Vision 2045.

The two countries also agreed to enhance cooperation in ten fields. These ten fields include digital economy and innovation, legal system and law enforcement, labor and human resources, culture, tourism, sports and youth, education and research, industry and mining, agriculture, fisheries, food security, and air connectivity between the two countries.

The Indonesian Hajj village in Saudi Arabia is an initiative put forth by President Prabowo. The head of the Hajj Organizing Agency (BPH), Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, stated that the Indonesian government has formed a team to study the establishment of the Hajj village.

Irfan previously mentioned that the Saudi Arabian government has not yet determined which land will be allocated for Indonesia to manage.

“Regarding the location and the technical aspects of establishing the Hajj village, and so on, further coordination is ongoing,” stated Irfan after a working meeting with the DPR Commission VIII in the parliament building, Jakarta, Monday, July 7, 2025.

The government has also not determined the total budget needed. The Gerindra politician said that there is not much that can be disclosed about this plan because the program is fully under the command of President Prabowo Subianto. “We await the President’s guidance,” he said.
