Jigawa Pilgrims Board Begins Refunds After Hajj Fare Reduction

The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the immediate commencement of refunds to pilgrims who paid for their Hajj seats before the recent reduction in fare.

This was contained in a statement signed over the weekend by the Public Relations Officer, Habibu Yusuf. The statement quoted the Director General of the Board, Ahmed Umar Labbo, as saying the refund process followed a directive from the National Hajj Commission after the substantial downward review of the 2026 #Hajj fare.

Labbo said the Board had put in place measures to ensure a seamless and transparent disbursement of funds. He directed all zonal officers to immediately begin collecting applications from eligible pilgrims.

“We urge all zonal officers to act swiftly in collecting the necessary applications along with valid bank account details from the pilgrims,” the statement added, noting that the refund must reach beneficiaries without delay.

The Director General also disclosed that preparations for the 2026 Hajj were already in high gear, both within the state and in Saudi Arabia, as the Board works to secure the best arrangements for the state’s contingent.

Labbo appealed to intending pilgrims to complete payment for their Hajj seats on or before December 24, warning that failure to meet the deadline could result in complications or possible disqualification.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Umar Namadi for his continuous support and his commitment to the welfare of Jigawa pilgrims.
