The Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, today inaugurated the first return flight of Kano State pilgrims back home from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u made this known during a farewell address to the pilgrims at House No. 1, Shari Mansur, Makkah.
In his address, the Director General urged the pilgrims to make use of the valuable knowledge and spiritual experience they acquired during the pilgrimage to improve their behavior and contribute positively to society.
He also called on all returning pilgrims to proceed directly to the Hajj Camp in Kano upon arrival to collect their allotted Zamzam water, which has been provided by the government as part of their welcome package.
The Director General further disclosed that the first return flight comprises pilgrims from the following eleven (11) Local Government Areas:
Ajingi LGA: 15 pilgrims (10 males, 5 females)
Tofa LGA: 17 pilgrims (12 males, 5 females)
Tudun Wada LGA: 115 pilgrims (84 males, 31 females)
Doguwa LGA: 94 pilgrims (73 males, 21 females)
Bebeji LGA: 80 pilgrims (65 males, 15 females)
Garin Malam LGA: 47 pilgrims (33 males, 14 females)
Gaya LGA: 14 pilgrims (10 males, 4 females)
Madobi LGA: 36 pilgrims (21 males, 15 females)
Kabo LGA: 18 pilgrims (13 males, 5 females)
Wudil LGA: 35 pilgrims (29 males, 6 females)
Rimin Gado LGA: 33 pilgrims
In addition, 11 national officials accompany the pilgrims on their return journey.
549 pilgrims are being airlifted on a Max Air flight from King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, which departed at approximately 1:30 PM today and is en route to Malam Aminu Kano International Airport.
