Kwara to airlift 1,714 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for 2026 Hajj

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced that a total of 1,714 indigenes will participate in the 2026 Hajj exercise.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, stated this while featuring on a local radio programme in Ilorin. He said preparations are in top gear to ensure a hitch-free airlift operation.

According to him, visas have been secured, accommodation in Saudi Arabia has been arranged, and all necessary Hajj materials, including bags, are ready.

He added that the Board is expected to receive the Basic Travel Allowance (BTA) for intending pilgrims next week. Alhaji Abdulkadir further revealed that the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has fixed May 3, 2026, for the inaugural flight nationwide.
