The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced a sensitisation tour of Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) to mobilise support and participation in the 2026 Hajj exercise.
Led by the Board Secretary, AbdulHakeem Ajomagberin, the team visited Agege Local Government, Orile-Agege LCDA and Ojodu LCDA on Monday.
Ajomagberin reminded council leaders that the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has fixed October 8, 2025, as the deadline for full payment of the N8.5 million Hajj fare, warning that non-compliance could affect visa issuance.
At Agege, Acting Executive Chairman, Abdul-Ganiyu Obasa, assured the delegation of the council’s support. Similar commitments were expressed by representatives of Orile-Agege and Ojodu LCDAs.
The sensitisation team included the Board’s Director of Operations, Adekola Akanni; Director of Public Affairs, Taofeek Lawal; and consultant, Azeez Saheed.
