Makinde’s support to Muslim welfare highly appreciated— Oyo Hajj board chairman

The newly appointed Chairman of the Oyo State Pilgrims Board (Muslim Wing), Alhaji Hashim Atere has lauded Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde over his unwavering support to the board.

 

Atere, an Ibadan man but a Saudi-trained Islamic Scholar, commended Governor Makinde for his substantial contributions towards streamlining and enhancing the operations of the board.

 

In a statement personally signed by him and made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Sunday, the chairman disclosed that it is now made easy for intending pilgrims to either visit Hajj camp in Olodo or the newly allocated temporary office space at the Former Producer Assembly, BCOS, Ibadan for any enquires.

 

In keeping with the Governor’s promise to improve the welfare of intending pilgrims, he said, the people of Oyo State will witness some developments regarding Muslim pilgrims starting from Hajj 2024.

 

He equally emphasized the positive impact of the Governor’s actions, stating, “We specially appreciate and commend our working Governor for his prompt and strategic support for improved service delivery to Oyo State prospective Muslim pilgrims.”

 

The chairman urged intending Muslim pilgrims to take full advantage of this new office space, as well as the existing office in Olodo, for documentation, biometrics, and other necessary processes to facilitate their pilgrimage preparations.

 

According to him, this move is set to greatly enhance the overall experience for those embarking on this sacred journey.

 

The Islamic scholar further assured that Muslim pilgrims in Oyo State would have a bright future, adding that there are several plans and developments in the pipeline as the year 2024 approaches.

 

Alhaji Hashim Atere, however, extended his heartfelt gratitude to Governor Makinde, acknowledging the Governor’s continued support and dedication to the board’s mission of delivering improved and high-quality services to intending Muslim pilgrims.

 

“This gesture not only highlights the government’s commitment to its citizens but also reinforces the synergy between leadership and the community in Oyo State,” he said.
