NAHCON Chair to States Executives: We can only achieve success if we work as partners

The acting chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) Mallam Jalal Ahmad Arabi has sought for the cooperation of States Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards and agencies as a way of achieving success during hajj exercise in Nigeria

 

Arabi stated this when he meets with the Chief Executive Officers of Pilgrims Boards and Agencies from across the 36 states, FCT and the Armed Forces today inside the conference hall of Hajj House in Abuja

 

In his opening remarks, Mallam Arabi expressed appreciation for “the show of solidarity and felicitations” he has received from all the CEOs since his appointment.

 

“We are meant to all serve one purpose, even though we represent different spaces and environments,” he said.

 

“We can only achieve success if we work as partners. I therefore extend my hands of fellowship. There will be no new or strange policies. We will ensure that the renewed hope we came with translates into action. We are lucky to observe that there were mistakes that should be corrected.

 

“There are always room for improvement. Hajj is probably the only pillar of Islam that if one gets right will return line the day they were born.

 

“Much is expected not just from those who appointed us, but also the entire Muslim mag. We will not put anyone to shame but perception must be managed well,” Arabi said.

 

The meeting went into closed doors after the Chairmans opening remarks. HAJJ REPORTERS reports that some of the items on the agenda of the meeting include the policy agenda of the new chairman, Action plan for Hajj 2024, including level of preparedness of State, previous performance of the board and details of reconciliation with the commission, first pre-Hajj visit, securing of Makkah accommodation and feedings well as visa deadline by Saudi Arabia.
