The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has commended the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board for what it described as outstanding commitment and exceptional preparedness ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise.

In a statement signed today by its Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi, the Commission confirmed that Kano State has remitted over ₦22 billion to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. Director General of the board, Lamin Danbappa, said the early remittance reflects the state’s resolve to guarantee a smooth and well-coordinated pilgrimage for its intending pilgrims.

Chairman of the Commission, Abdullahi Usman, praised Kano State for setting what he called a clear benchmark for other states. He described Kano as “different among others”, noting its transparency, proactive planning and strong engagement with the Commission.

The board’s timely compliance, according to the Commission, underscores its readiness to deliver enhanced welfare, efficient services and improved logistics for pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj.
