The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has inaugurated a committee to screen tour operators ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The ceremony, held yesterday at the Hajj House in Abuja, was presided over by the Director of Administration, Alhaji Alidu Shuti, who represented the Commission’s Chairman.
Shuti described the exercise as a crucial step in ensuring a smooth Hajj operation. He charged members of the committee, drawn from NAHCON management and the Secretariat, to thoroughly scrutinize all documents submitted by intending operators and recommend allocations only to qualified companies.
“You are expected to submit your recommendations to the leadership of the Commission for approval or otherwise, and produce a comprehensive report at the end of the exercise,” he said.
He stressed the urgency of the assignment, noting that it must be concluded within one week in line with deadlines set by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
The committee was officially inaugurated with a charge to carry out its responsibilities diligently, objectively, and in strict compliance with laid-down guidelines.
