The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) on Tuesday held high-level engagements in Saudi Arabia as part of preparations for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
NAHCON chairman and chief executive officer, Abdullahi Saleh Usman, led a strategic delegation to a pre-Hajj coordination meeting with Nigeria’s Consul General in Jeddah, Muazzam Ibrahim Nayaya. The delegation included the commissioner for Policy, Personnel Management and Finance, Aliu Abdurazaq; commissioner for Operations, Anofiu Olanrewaju Elegushi; secretary of the commission, Muhammad Mustapha Ali; and other senior directors.
The meeting focused on strengthening coordination between Nigerian authorities and diplomatic officials to ensure smooth operations for Nigerian pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj.
In a separate engagement, the NAHCON delegation also met with representatives of the General Authority of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia (GACA) to review updates on airlift arrangements and other aviation-related aspects of the 2026 Hajj preparations.
The discussions are part of NAHCON’s ongoing efforts to address logistical, operational and regulatory issues ahead of the pilgrimage.
