The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has issued a stern warning to State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards, Agencies, and Commissions to strictly comply with the 2026 Hajj calendar released by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
In a circular dated 5th September, 2025, and signed by Prince Anofi Elegushi, Commissioner for Operations, Inspectorate and License, the Commission stressed the urgent need for prompt remittance of all Hajj payments to its designated accounts.
NAHCON cautioned that failure by any state to meet the deadlines for financial remittances and logistics could lead to disruptions, including a possible reduction in the number of pilgrims allowed to perform the pilgrimage.
“To avoid such interruptions and ensure seamless coordination of the 2026 Hajj operation, all states are hereby directed to expedite action on the payment process and ensure that all relevant funds are fully remitted within the stipulated timeframe,” the circular stated.
The Commission urged full cooperation from state boards, describing it as critical to the success of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
