The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has called on State Pilgrims Welfare Boards to submit the manifest of their intending pilgrims to its Madina office at least 24 hours before arrival in Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Aliyu Abdulhameed, Head of NAHCON’s Passport Management Control Committee in Madina, made the appeal in a statement released by the commission’s Information Officer, Suwaiba Ahmed, on Tuesday.
The move, according to Abdulhameed, is to facilitate the timely issuance and activation of the NUSUK card—now mandatory for all 2025 Hajj pilgrims by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
The NUSUK card, which carries pilgrims’ details, is required for access to holy sites in Makkah, Madina, and the Masha’ir areas, and serves as a key identity verification tool.
Abdulhameed said the committee had been working round the clock since May 5 to prepare the cards ahead of Nigerian pilgrims’ arrival and urged cooperation from all stakeholders to ensure a seamless process.
