The Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced registration for the 2027 Hajj exercise and fixed an initial fare of ₦7.7 million for intending pilgrims, pending the official fare announcement by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
The Executive Secretary of the board, Sheikh Muhammad Awwal Aliyu, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday.
Aliyu said the board had set September 20, 2026, as the deadline for registration and payment, ahead of NAHCON’s September 25 deadline.
He urged intending pilgrims in the state to begin payment immediately and complete their registration before the deadline to enable prompt remittance to NAHCON and facilitate smooth planning for the pilgrimage.
The executive secretary also stated that only persons who are medically and mentally fit would be registered for the exercise, noting that the measure was aimed at reducing health-related risks during the pilgrimage.
He reaffirmed the board’s commitment to providing efficient, transparent and well-coordinated services to ensure a hitch-free and spiritually rewarding Hajj experience for pilgrims from the state.
The statement, signed by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Jibrin Usman Kodo, called on interested Muslims across Niger State to take advantage of the registration window and begin preparations early for the 2027 Hajj.
