The Niger State Pilgrims‘ Welfare Board has commenced the uploading of intending pilgrims’ information for the 2027 Hajj exercise on the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) e-registration platform.

The exercise, which commenced this week at the Board’s Headquarters in Minna, is being carried out in compliance with NAHCON’s directive to State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards to capture and upload intending pilgrims’ data ahead of the announcement of Hajj fares and commencement of visa processing.

Speaking during the commencement of the exercise, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Muhammad Awwal Aliyu, said the digital registration process was designed to promote accuracy, transparency and early planning for the welfare of intending pilgrims from the state.

He explained that the initiative would ensure that pilgrims’ information is accurately captured and transmitted to NAHCON, thereby reducing errors and delays while facilitating effective planning for airlift, accommodation and other welfare services.

According to him, Local Government Area Pilgrims’ Officers have been mobilised across the 25 LGAs to sensitise prospective pilgrims and assist them with the required documentation, including valid international passports, National Identification Numbers (NIN) and evidence of payment.

The Executive Secretary urged all intending pilgrims’ for the 2027 Hajj to visit their respective LGA Pilgrims Offices with the necessary documents to ensure timely registration and data capture.

He stressed the importance of early registration, noting that intending Pilgrims’ should not wait until the last minute before completing the process.

The Board assured intending Pilgrims’ of its commitment to providing a smooth, transparent and hitch-free registration process, while strengthening collaboration with NAHCON and other stakeholders towards a successful 2027 Hajj operation.
