Benin City – The Chairman of Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Sheikh Ibrahim Oyarekhua, has commended Governor Godwin Obaseki for constructing a multipurpose Hajj complex in Benin City.

He noted that Obaseki, a non-Muslim, built a befitting complex for the Muslim Ummah to serve as an operational hub for Hajj activities in the state.

Sheikh Ibrahim Oyarekhua expressed his feelings to the Independent Hajj Reporters (IHR) in an exclusive interview on Thursday in Benin City to herald the official inauguration of the facility.

Besides, the chairman acknowledged that the governor provided a bus to ease its operations.

According to him, the complex comprised a modern administrative block, a hostel for pilgrims, a conference hall, and an expanded Masjid (mosque) with ablution and conveniences to match, among other facilities.

“As the 16th chief executive of the board, I prayed and promised to deliver an unequal Hajj agency in the country.

“I thank Allah for granting the current management under my leadership to accomplish this silent achievement. I will advise those who will come after me to maintain the edifice and discipline institutionalized.

“For the eight years on this saddle, I am happy that my personal sacrifices to the service of Islam and Hajj operations has yielded positive results he stated.
