Press Release
The crucial role of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Hajj operations in the Ogun State cannot be overemphasized towards ensuring a hitch-free exercise.
Executive Secretary of the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alh. Ajibola Taiwo, made this known during a visit to the agency’s State Command, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, appreciating its support for successfully implementing previous Hajj operations.
Alh. Taiwo explained that the visit was to inform the agency of the commencement of the 2025 Hajj and to seek sustenance through enlightenment programmes on prohibited foods and drugs. It also involved profiling pilgrims before embarking on the holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
Responding, State Commander, NDLEA, Commander Tijani Rabe, commended the efforts of the Board in promoting the wellbeing of pilgrims both in the state and Holyland, saying the visit was a way of strategising and strengthening the bond between both agencies, promising that the NDLEA would not relent in carrying out its statutory functions where necessary.
