Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Board Relocates To Newly Commissioned Permanent Site

The Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has successfully relocated to its permanent office complex at Green House opposite Magnus Hospital, before T and T junction Jos, provided by the Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang. The relocation marks a historic milestone in the annals of the Board, which had operated from a temporary site for over four decades.

 

Speaking at the official commissioning ceremony, Governor Mutfwang, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Arc. Samuel Nanchang Jatau, reiterated the commitment of his administration to the promotion and support of religious activities across the State without any form of bias or discrimination.

 

The Governor assured that his administration remains resolute in building a united, peaceful, and progressive Plateau, where all citizens, irrespective of religious or ethnic affiliations, would enjoy equal opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the development of the State.

 

Representing the Emir of Wase and Chairman of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) Plateau State Chapter, His Royal Highness Alh. (Dr.) Muhammadu Sambo, the Galadiman Wase and Hakimin Wase North, Alh. Mustapha Umar, conveyed the Emir’s goodwill message and appreciation to the Governor for his magnanimity in providing the befitting edifice. He assured the Governor of the continued prayers and unwavering support of the Muslim Ummah for the success of his administration and the peace of the State.

 

In his welcome remarks, the Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Hon. Alh. Daiyabu Dauda, expressed profound gratitude to the Governor for his sustained support to the Board since assuming office. He described the Governor as a compassionate leader and a father to all, whose commitment to service has positively impacted the operations of the Board and the welfare of the State’s pilgrims.

 

Hon. Dauda noted that under Governor Mutfwang’s leadership, the Board received notable interventions, including the provision of additional meals for pilgrims during flight delays occasioned by Saudi authorities, the procurement of operational vehicles both in Nigeria and Makkah to enhance logistics, and now, the allocation of a permanent office complex to ensure administrative stability.

 

In his goodwill message, the Executive Secretary of the Nasarawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board and Chairman of the Forum of Chief Executives of State Pilgrims Boards, Agencies and Commissions, Alh. Idris Almakura, commended Governor Mutfwang for his foresight and commitment to strengthening religious institutions. He described the gesture as timely and highly commendable, adding that it will further enhance the efficiency and morale of the Board.

 

Similarly, the Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Christian Pilgrims Board, represented by the Director of Administration, Mrs. Helen Ezekiel, and a member of the Plateau State Elders Council, Hajiya Jamila Gwandu, commended the Governor’s inclusive leadership style and his fatherly disposition towards all faiths. They noted that for over forty years, the Board operated from a temporary site before the current administration provided a befitting permanent structure.

 

The event was graced by dignitaries including the Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Dr. Abdulrahman Ibrahim Idris; heads of security agencies; Islamic scholars; Ulamas; leaders of various Islamic organizations; Hajj stakeholders; and members of the general public.
