PRESS RELEASE
The Director-General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to explore the possibility of introducing a subsidy for the 2025 Hajj.
He made this appeal during a live interview on the Barka da Hatsi program aired on Freedom Radio earlier today.
Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u noted that the prevailing economic challenges in the country have significantly impacted the lives of many citizens, making it difficult for intending pilgrims to afford the cost of Hajj.
He stressed that providing a subsidy would alleviate the financial burden on Muslim faithful intending to perform this sacred religious obligation.
“In view of the current Situation in the nation, I appeal to the Federal Government to consider granting a subsidy for the benefit of our Muslim Ummah. This will ensure that more people can fulfill their religious duty without undue financial stress,” he stated.
Furthermore, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u advised all intending pilgrims interested in participating in the 2025 Hajj to ensure they pay their deposits via bank draft before the deadline.
He emphasized the importance of early payment to facilitate proper planning and logistics for the pilgrimage.
The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board remains committed to ensuring a smooth and successful Hajj experience for all intending pilgrims and will continue to advocate for measures that ease the financial burden on the faithful.
