The United Arab Emirates has recorded an overwhelming response for the 2026 Hajj season, with more than 72,000 citizens and residents applying for only 6,228 available slots under the country’s official pilgrimage quota.
The unprecedented surge in applications highlights the growing eagerness among UAE Muslims to fulfill the sacred Islamic obligation of Hajj, which takes place annually in Saudi Arabia.
According to the UAE’s Hajj and Umrah Affairs Office, priority will be given to first-time pilgrims, ensuring more people get a chance to perform the spiritual journey. Authorities are also introducing digital registration systems and enhanced pre-Hajj health programs to streamline the selection and preparation process.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has announced continued improvements in crowd management, health safety, and smart technology integration, aiming to make the pilgrimage more seamless and secure for millions of worshippers from around the world.
