The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has activated a video call service to answer inquiries from Umrah performers and visitors during Ramadan. The ministry said the service is run by the General Secretariat for Islamic Awareness in Hajj, Umrah, and Visitation. It is part of the ministry’s approved plan for the current 1447 AH season and its continuing outreach programs in Makkah.
The service uses smart devices that enable live audio and video communication between the questioner and a group of sheikhs, preachers, and translators in more than 40 languages. They answer questions on Umrah rites, Ramadan rulings, i’tikaf, and other acts of worship and transactions.
The service is available at several sites, including Masjid Al-Taneem, prayer halls in hotels around the Grand Mosque, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Baz Mosque, and Aisha Al-Rajhi Mosque in the Al-Naseem neighborhood. The ministry said the locations expand access to the service for the widest possible range of Umrah performers and visitors.
