- Ihram and Intention (Miqat)
Before entering Makkah, a pilgrim enters Ihram at a fixed place called Miqat.
Here, the pilgrim makes the intention (Niyyah) for Hajj and starts reciting Talbiyah.
- Arrival in Makkah – Masjid Al-Haram
The first main place in Makkah is Masjid Al-Haram.
Here the pilgrim performs:
Tawaf (7 rounds around the Kaaba)
Sa’i (walking between Safa and Marwah)
- Going to Mina (8th Dhul-Hijjah)
Pilgrims travel from Makkah to Mina.
They stay in tents, pray, rest, and prepare for the big day of Hajj.
- Day of Arafat (9th Dhul-Hijjah)
From Mina, pilgrims go to Arafat.
This is the most important day of Hajj.
Pilgrims make dua, prayer, and repentance until sunset.
- Muzdalifah (Night Stay)
After sunset, pilgrims go to Muzdalifah.
They:
Pray Maghrib and Isha
Collect small stones
Stay the night there
- Jamarat (Stoning of the Devil)
Pilgrims return to Mina and go to Jamarat.
They throw stones at the pillars, which symbolizes rejecting Shaytan.
- Sacrifice and Hair Cutting
Pilgrims perform animal sacrifice and then shave or trim hair.
Now some restrictions of Ihram are lifted.
- Return to Makkah – Tawaf al-Ifadah
Pilgrims go back to Masjid Al-Haram and perform Tawaf al-Ifadah, which is a main pillar of Hajj.
