2024 Hajj: Kwara begins registration via online, urges intending pilgrims to deposit N3.5m

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced registration for the year 2024 Hajj exercise.

 

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir who disclosed in Ilorin, said the registration would be done via online.

 

He said the announcement for the commencement of registration was in compliance with the approval by the Kwara State Government for the flag off the exercise.

 

The Executive Secretary advised all the interested intending pilgrims for the 2024 Hajj from state to deposit the total sum of N3.5 million as first deposit for Hajj fare.

 

Alhaji Abdulkadir said intending pilgrims are expected to add the sum of N1million only before the ending of November in line with the directive from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.

The Executive Secretary said NAHCON had recently told Nigerians intending pilgrims for the next year’s Hajj to start depositing a minimum of N4.5 million because 2024 Hajj would be more expensive than previous years due to the current floating rate of the Naira against the dollar.

 

Alhaji Abdulkadir explained that the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq had directed the Board to start collecting the sum of N3.5 million only through a bank draft due to the present situation of Nigerian economy.

 

The Executive Secretary then appealed to intending pilgrims across the state and non-Kwarans who are willing to perform 2024 Hajj with the Board to visit the Board for more details.
