Following the directive of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) on the 2026 hajj fare, the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (OGMPWB) has announced Eight Million, Five Hundred and Sixty-One Thousand, Thirteen Naira, Sixty-Seven Kobo (N8561,013.67) as the final fare for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Ajibola Taiwo, confirmed that the figure was agreed at, after NAHCON consultations with key stakeholders, including the Forum of States’ leadership, and with the approval of the Federal Government.
Ajibola noted that the new fare represented a reduction of ₦223,071.92 (Two Hundred and Twenty-Three Thousand, Seventy-One Naira, Ninety Two Kobo), per pilgrim, compared to the previous year’s cost. He advised intending pilgrims to make an initial deposit of 50 percent of the Hajj fare on or before the earlier announced deadline of Monday, October 6, 2025, stressing that the timeline remained sacrosanct to enable the board to commence preliminary preparations.
He further revealed that full payment must be completed on or before December 31, 2025, to secure participation.
