In a swift turn of events following HAJJ REPORTERS’ recent investigation into the illegal sale of official Hajj seats, several victims of the scam have begun receiving refunds from the perpetrators.
The initial report exposed how a group of individuals under the name A.M. I Haske Nig Ltd allegedly defrauded unsuspecting pilgrims by promising them access to NAHCON official Hajj seats. A verified audio recording had captured how they claimed that they operated with the blessing of “Professor Pakistan” and that the NAHCON Chairman was “one of their own” in Kano.
One source told HAJJ REPORTERS: “My brother was convinced to pay N200,000 for a seat, with the promise that he would get 40% of the Hajj allowance. They insisted it was genuine and connected to the NAHCON Chairman.”
Following the exposé, several victims contacted the newspaper to confirm that the scammers have begun refunding the money they collected—likely a response to the public outcry and scrutiny generated by the publication.
The development underscores the power of investigative journalism in holding fraudsters accountable and protecting the integrity of the Hajj process.
HAJJ REPORTERS will continue to monitor the situation and advocate for full justice for all affected.
