Speaking in Makkah, Committee Chairman, Hon. Abdu Ilu Maku, said the lawmakers inspected accommodations in Madinah, Makkah, and Mina, and were impressed by the board’s direct procurement of strategically located hotels near the Haramain, easing access for pilgrims.

Maku noted that the board, led by Director General Ahmed Umar Labbo, had also ensured the provision of quality meals, effective transportation, and accessible healthcare for Jigawa pilgrims.

He added that the oversight visit was aimed at ensuring the board delivered on its commitment to prioritise the welfare of pilgrims throughout the sacred journey.

The committee expressed satisfaction with the ongoing arrangements and praised the DG for his transparent and dedicated leadership both in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.

Also speaking on behalf of the state executive council, Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Babangida Umar, passed a vote of confidence in Labbo’s leadership, noting that Jigawa’s pilgrims house in Makkah ranks among the best due to its proximity to the Holy Mosque.
