The Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu, has approved the constitution of the 2025 Hajj Reception Committee to coordinate the smooth return of pilgrims from Saudi Arabia.
The committee is chaired by Commissioner for Agriculture, Moh’d Tukur Alkali, with Ibrahim Dadi Adare, Commissioner for Local Governments, serving as co-chair. Other members include officials from various state agencies and local governments, such as Nasiru Ladan (Roads Maintenance), Maryam Sulaiman D’mass (Resident Community), Nasra Lawal Gumi (Poultry Development), Tukur Toro (SEPA), and Ya’u Muhammad Danda (Sokoto South LG).
Additional members include Gandi Umar Muhammad (SSA Legal & Admin), Prof. Bayero Sabir Moh’d (SSA Public Affairs), Sani Umar (SSA Online Media), Hajiya Ai’shatu Aliyu Abubakar (Teachers Service Board), and several others. Kasimu Abdulkadir Saddiq, Secretary of the Primary Pension Board, will serve as committee secretary.
The committee is tasked with organizing a befitting reception for returning pilgrims, coordinating transportation to local government areas, ensuring proper luggage handling, and maintaining order during luggage collection. The appointments take immediate effect.
