The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has officially concluded the return airlift of Nigerian pilgrims from Saudi Arabia, marking the end of the 2025 Hajj operations.
The final return flight departed Jeddah at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, carrying 89 pilgrims — 88 from Kaduna State and one from Katsina. This brought the 20-day return operation, which began on June 13, to a successful close.
Speaking during a farewell ceremony in Jeddah, NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullah Saleh Usman, expressed gratitude to Allah for a smooth Hajj season. He attributed the success to cooperation among state pilgrims’ boards, airline operators, service providers, and the discipline of pilgrims.
Professor Usman urged pilgrims to keep praying for Nigeria’s peace and prosperity, and to maintain the relationships they built during the pilgrimage.
He was accompanied by the Commissioner of Operations, Prince Anofiu Elegushi, the Commission Secretary, Dr. Mustapha Alli, Special Assistant to the President, Ameen Amshi, and other NAHCON officials.
The Chairman reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to continuous improvement in line with global best practices.
