The Taraba State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced a statewide sensitisation exercise to educate intending pilgrims on the 2026 Hajj operations.
The Central Zone team, led by Malam Muhammad Sani Modibbo, launched the campaign in Gassol Local Government with a meeting at the palace of the Chief of Mutum-Biyu, Justice Sani Suleiman Duna.
During the session, officials highlighted new Saudi policies and stressed the need for early payment of Hajj fares. Malam Abdul-Nasir Jamal, who headed the sensitisation group in Mutum-Biyu, said the outreach was aimed at engaging intending pilgrims to ensure smooth operations.
Justice Duna commended the initiative, urging the board to sustain the programme so that all pilgrims are adequately informed. Similarly, Ustaz Babasule Aminu, Gassol Local Government Centre Officer, lauded the board for sending a credible team to interact directly with pilgrims.
The exercise will continue across the state to boost preparedness and compliance ahead of the 2026 pilgrimage.
