The Executive Secretary of the Nasarawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Idris Almakura, has called on local government councils in the state to sponsor their Hajj Coordinators to strengthen the coordination of pilgrims’ activities.
Almakura made the appeal during a meeting with the Association of Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGON), Nasarawa State Chapter, led by Hon. Safiyanu Andaha, at the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
He said the coordinators play a vital role in ensuring the welfare and smooth management of pilgrims from their respective areas, adding that their participation in Hajj operations would enhance efficiency and service delivery.
Almakura also sought the support of the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Aminu Mu’azu, in facilitating the sponsorship of the coordinators.
He reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to transparency, efficiency, and improved services for Nasarawa pilgrims.
