The Yobe State Pilgrims Commission has stepped up preparations for the 2026 Hajj exercise, calling on intending pilgrims to submit their international passports early to facilitate timely visa processing.
The Executive Chairman of the Commission, Mai Aliyu Usman, appealed during a meeting at his office, noting that arrangements for the 2026 Hajj visa process are already in progress. He warned that delays in submitting travel documents could hinder participation in the pilgrimage.
Usman explained that the 2026 Hajj visa will be linked to pilgrims’ medical certificates and the Nusuk platform, in line with Saudi Arabian regulations, making early and accurate documentation essential.
He also urged intending pilgrims to participate actively in enlightenment programmes organised by the Commission, stressing that the sessions are designed to educate pilgrims on Hajj rites, rules and proper conduct.
According to him, consistent attendance at the programmes would enhance pilgrims’ understanding and contribute to a smooth, successful and spiritually rewarding Hajj.
The call was contained in a statement issued by the Commission’s Information and Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Alhaji Sabo.
