Bauchi Unveils 2026 Hajj Flight Plan Amid Slot Cut

The Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has released the flight schedule for the 2026 Hajj, as preparations intensify ahead of the exercise.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Imam Abdurrahman Idris, disclosed this during a press conference in Bauchi, outlining key updates for intending pilgrims.

He explained that applicants whose names did not appear on the final list could either defer their payments to the next Hajj or request a refund.

“Those affected by the development have the option to either roll over their payments to the next Hajj or apply for a refund through the board,” Idris said.

He clarified that the situation was beyond the control of the board, attributing it to a directive by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, which reduced Nigeria’s allocation.

“This reduction is not from us. It is a national issue following a directive that affected several countries,” he stated.

According to him, Nigeria’s initial allocation of 95,000 slots was cut by 41,000, preventing many intending pilgrims from participating in this year’s exercise.

He appealed for understanding from those affected. “We urge all intending pilgrims to check their names and remain calm as we manage the situation transparently,” he said.

Idris further announced that the distribution of uniforms and travel bags for successful pilgrims would commence on April 16, 2026.

He disclosed that Bauchi State has about 2,086 registered pilgrims and urged them to comply strictly with new guidelines introduced by Saudi authorities.

“Pilgrims must adhere to all regulations and stay informed through official channels, including radio and their local government Hajj offices,” he added.
