The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has deployed an additional 70 officials to Saudi Arabia to strengthen preparations for the 2026 Hajj operations.
The officials are to join the advance team already on ground to support Nigerian pilgrims during the exercise. The second batch comprises 15 medical personnel and five members of the national media team, while the remaining 50 are NAHCON staff.
The officials are expected to arrive alongside pilgrims from Ogun State to finalise arrangements ahead of the main influx of pilgrims.
Meanwhile, the first batch of Nigerian pilgrims is scheduled to depart on Sunday, May 3, aboard an inaugural flight operated by Max Air. The flight will airlift pilgrims from the Gateway International Airport in Ogun State to Saudi Arabia.
The deployment is part of NAHCON’s efforts to ensure a smooth and well-coordinated Hajj operation for Nigerian pilgrims.
