A Hajj induction workshop for the 2026 pilgrimage has been held in Abuja, with participants urged to deepen their understanding of the spiritual and practical requirements of the exercise.
The programme, organised by Marquis Concierge in collaboration with Finest Travels, focused on preparing intending pilgrims for the journey to Saudi Arabia.
In an opening remark delivered by Managing Director of Marquis Concierge, Muhammed Musa Abubakar, welcomed participants and described Hajj as a sacred responsibility rather than a routine service.
He said the workshop was designed to equip pilgrims with the knowledge needed to navigate the complexities of the pilgrimage, adding that the company remains committed to guiding “guests of Allah” throughout the process.
A key lecture at the event, titled “Harnessing the Spirituality of Hajj through History,” was delivered by Abdullah Musa Abdul, who emphasised the importance of understanding the concept and rites of Hajj.
Abdul explained that Hajj is a time-bound and location-specific act of worship centred on the Kaaba in Mecca, noting that pilgrims must perform prescribed rites such as Tawaf, Sa’i, and the standing at Arafat in accordance with Islamic teachings.
He cautioned against treating the pilgrimage as a tourist activity, stressing that sincerity and adherence to established rites are essential for the acceptance of the ibadah.
Participants were also guided on the historical foundations of Hajj and the need to follow the example of Prophet Muhammad in performing the rituals.
The organisers expressed optimism that attendees would leave the workshop better prepared, both spiritually and practically, for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
