The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced a change in the departure date for the first batch of intending pilgrims travelling to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

In a statement signed by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi, the inaugural flight earlier scheduled for Thursday, May 14, will now depart on Friday, May 15, following adjustments in flight arrangements by Max Air.

The board said the affected pilgrims are from Gwale, Dala, Fagge and Ungogo Local Government Areas.

It advised all pilgrims earlier scheduled to travel on May 14 to take note of the new departure date and comply with further directives.

The board assured intending pilgrims that adequate arrangements were being made to ensure a smooth and successful airlift operation, while promising to continue providing necessary updates and reporting schedules.

Max Air also expressed regret over any inconvenience caused by the change and appealed for understanding from the affected pilgrims.
