Raudah Travels and Tours Ltd has announced special spiritual activities for its first batch of Umrah pilgrims scheduled to depart Nigeria on June 23, 2026, to coincide with the Islamic month of Muharram.
According to the company, arrangements have been made for pilgrims to observe the voluntary fasts of Tasu’a on June 24 and Ashura on June 25 while in Madinah.
The company said Iftar and Sahoor meals would be provided for participating pilgrims at the Madina Odist Hotel throughout the fasting period.
Raudah Travels also disclosed that a special group lecture and awareness session would be conducted by its leader guide in Madinah to enlighten pilgrims on the significance of Ashura and other spiritual activities during the period.
The firm, in collaboration with Pilgrims Awareness, urged pilgrims to take advantage of the opportunity for worship and prayers, while also remembering Nigeria in their supplications.
Raudah Travels noted that fasting on the Day of Ashura is highly recommended in Islam, citing a saying of Prophet Muhammad that fasting on the day expiates the sins of the previous year.
