New Delhi – The Hajj Committee of India has opened applications for Hajj 2027, following the Centre’s unveiling of a revised policy aimed at making the pilgrimage more transparent, affordable, and pilgrim-friendly.

The announcement was made by the Ministry of Minority Affairs in coordination with the Hajj Committee of India. The new policy replaces the previous framework and introduces key changes in quota allocation, application process, and financial guidelines for Indian pilgrims.

Key Highlights of the New Hajj Policy 2027

1. Online-Only Applications: All applications must be submitted online through the Hajj Committee of India portal. Offline forms will not be accepted to reduce errors and delays.

2. Revised Quota System: State-wise quotas have been reworked based on updated Muslim population data and past attendance records.

3. Cost Transparency: The Centre has capped package rates for all Hajj categories and mandated a breakdown of airfare, accommodation, food, and local transport costs.

4. Women Without Mehram: Women above 45 years will continue to be allowed to apply in groups of 4 or more without a male guardian, as per the 2018 Supreme Court ruling.

5. Health & Age Guidelines: Stricter medical fitness criteria will apply. Pilgrims above 65 with serious health conditions may need additional clearance.

6. Digital Services: A new Hajj Suvidha App will provide real-time updates on flight schedules, accommodation, Masha’ir movement, and emergency contacts.
