Independent Hajj Reporters Confer Award On Governor Mutfwang

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has commended the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for its efficient coordination of Hajj operations and urged the commission to sustain and improve on its services.
The governor stated this at the Abuja Central Mosque Auditorium during the presentation of the Distinguished Hajj Support Award 2026 conferred on him by Independent Hajj Reporters. He was represented by the 2026 Amirul Hajj and member representing Wase Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Ahmad Idris Maje.
Governor Mutfwang expressed appreciation to Independent Hajj Reporters for the recognition. He described the award as significant to him personally, to the Muslim Ummah in Plateau State and Nigeria, and as recognition of his administration’s commitment to good governance, inclusiveness and the welfare of Muslim pilgrims.
Also honoured was the Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alh. Daiyabu Dauda, who received the award as Best Executive Secretary, North Central 2026 Hajj.
Alh. Dauda commended Governor Mutfwang for his continuous support, noting that the governor’s commitment contributed significantly to the progress recorded in Hajj operations in Plateau State.
The coordinator of Independent Hajj Reporters, Sulaiman Muhammad, said the governor was selected for the award due to his exceptional support for Hajj activities. He mentioned the provision of vehicles to the board, sponsorship of pilgrims, and completion of pilgrims’ Basic Travel Allowance (BTA), among other forms of support.
Other members of the delegation included the chairman of the Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alh. Danladi Kwari, board members, management and staff.
The high point of the event was the presentation of awards to recipients in recognition of their contributions to the success of Hajj operations.
