MAKKAH, Saudi Arabia — September 1, 2026: Saudi Arabia’s Hajjathon has attracted 405 applicants seeking to develop innovative and practical solutions aimed at improving services for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims and visitors to the Kingdom.
The initiative brings together innovators and technology developers to explore new ideas capable of addressing some of the challenges associated with managing large numbers of pilgrims and enhancing their overall experience.
Artificial intelligence and technology are emerging as major areas of interest among participants, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s growing focus on digital transformation in the management of Hajj and Umrah.
The Hajjathon is being held as part of the 26th Scientific Forum for Hajj, Umrah and Visit Research, which focuses on research, innovation and technological solutions designed to improve services provided to pilgrims and visitors.
Healthcare is also receiving significant attention, with innovators exploring solutions that could strengthen medical services and support the health and safety of pilgrims during their journeys.
