A delegation from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), led by the Northwest Zone Commissioner, Sheikh Muhammad Bin Uthman, has paid an official visit to the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board headquarters to assess readiness for the upcoming 2027 Hajj operations.
Upon arrival, the delegation was received by the Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, who conducted a comprehensive tour of the facilities.
Alhaji Labbo confirmed that Jigawa State is fully prepared for the pilgrimage, having completely sold its allocated Hajj seats and officially requested additional quotas to accommodate growing demand.
As part of the visit, the delegation paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, Engineer Aminu Usman Gumel. During the meeting, Bin Uthman outlined key policy updates from NAHCON—including mandatory medical fitness evaluations for prospective pilgrims—and emphasized the critical need for sustained collaboration between state boards and the national body.
In his response, Deputy Governor Engineer Aminu Usman Gumel expressed the state government’s gratitude for the visit and commended the board’s exceptional performance.
He reaffirmed Jigawa State’s commitment to pilgrim welfare, noting that this dedication has consistently earned the state the top ranking in national Hajj operations.
He assured the delegation that the state will maintain its leadership position and continue working closely with NAHCON to guarantee smooth, successful pilgrimages every year.
